		28th Annual Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Fiddling time It is time to mark your calendars for the 28th Annual Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championship, August 23rd and 24th at South Park in downtown Lawrence, KS. This free event will include competitions in fiddle (featuring a separate youth and senior division), flatpick guitar, fingerpick guitar, mandolin and banjo, ensemble folk singing and the ever-popular miscellaneous acoustic instruments. New and improved! We're excited to present a "new and improved" fiddling and picking championships! Part of this includes this new website, packed full of info. We hope it helps you find what you need and gets you excited about this year's competition. The festivities kick off on Saturday the 23rd with a free ice cream social and past winner showcase and jam session. There will also be Saturday workshops. See the schedule page for more info. On Sunday the 24th the competitions begin! Starting at 12pm, there will be free concerts, great food and special activities for the kids and of course the state’s top musicians battling for prizes and bragging rights. Check out our schedule page for times and stage locations of the competitions. Everyone is invited to join us for this late summer afternoon of music and celebration of americana.
