Have your acoustic band perform in downtown Lawrence
The Fiddling and Picking weekend coincides with The Buskers Weekend presented by the city of Lawrence. There will be professional street performers, jugglers, magicians, musicians etc. doing their acts on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence from 2:00 to 10:00PM, Saturday, August 23rd. We have been assigned the Southwest corner of 10th and Massachusetts. We will be booking half hour slots. We would love to have your band take a time slot. We will provide a fishbowl for you to gather donations and you can sell your CDs, t-shirts, etc. It is good strategy to bring a handful of one and five dollar bills to "prime" the fishbowl. Nobody wants to be the first to put money into an empty bowl, and if it is half full of bills people are less likely to throw change.
